Jared Watson, Vice Chair of Recognition and Awards

Jared Watson is an assistant professor of marketing at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland.He teaches consumer behavior at the undergraduate and graduate levels. His research focuses on the context-dependent nature of information usage online. To that end, he studies how various elements of product reviews, social media posts, and website layouts impact purchase behaviors, engagement, and word-of-mouth. Watson’s research has been published in the Journal of Marketing, and he serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for JCR, JCP, JMR, JM, and IJRM.Prior to academia, Watson was a sales manager for Frito-Lay. Aside from professional credentials, he is an avid cook, sports fan, and multimedia (e.g., television, movies, music, video games) consumer.
