Francesca Valsesia is an Assistant Professor of Marketing and Evert McCabe Endowed Fellow at UW’s Foster School of Business. Her research interests focus on social influence, impression management, word-of-mouth and the social drivers of consumer behavior more broadly, with a particular emphasis on digital and social media marketing.
Francesca’s work has been published in leading journals including the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Marketing Research, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Marketing Science, the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology and the Journal of Consumer Psychology. She is an Editorial Review Board member at Journal of Consumer Research and the Journal of Consumer Psychology.
Francesca teaches in Foster’s undergraduate, MBA, and Ph.D. programs. She is also a recipient of the Foster Dean’s Excellence Award for Faculty Research.
Before joining the University of Washington, Francesca completed her Ph.D. at the University of Southern California. Prior to entering academia, she worked in marketing and marketing research in London (UK) and Milan (Italy).
